Time to Dig

Shortcuts abound these days.  Everywhere we look, different and interesting ways of skipping the work.  “You don’t need a shovel, you need a brand new shiny tractor!”

It sounds great, and usually is.

The problem is we rely on the tractor.  Our bodies get soft.  Our hands forget what it’s like to hold the shovel for hours a day.  To sweat.  To lift with our back.

Someday, the tractor will fail or we won’t have access to it.  All we’ll have is our hands and the question of how bad we want to progress.

It’s time to dig.
